Smaller win turns into $4 million Massachusetts State Lottery prize; here is what he plans on doing with the cash

A smaller win turned into a massive multi-million-dollar haul recently on a State Lottery scratch ticket.

According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Jose Collado of Pelham, NH won a $4 million grand prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$4,000,000 Gold 50X” $10 instant ticket game. He claimed his prize at the Massachusetts State Lottery’s headquarters located in Dorchester.

He bought his winning ticket at Speedway, 709 McGrath Hwy. in Somerville. Collado won $1,000 on another instant ticket the day before and decided to return to the same store to purchase another ticket, leading to his $4 million win. The store receives a $40,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.

When asked to comment on his win, Collado said, “You can win more in Mass!” He plans on investing his winnings.

$4,000,000 Gold 50X has two $4,000,000 winners and seven $1,000,000 winners remaining.
