Sister of 64 years who was a teacher in Fall River, Taunton, Providence, West Warwick, Central Falls passes away
A Sister from Fall River who taught in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island has died.
82-year-old Sister Eileen Kitchen, RSM (formerly Sister Richard Mary), a Sister of Mercy for 64 years, died on Wednesday at Catholic Memorial Home in Fall River.
Sister Eileen taught at St. Peter & Paul School in Fall River as well as schools in Taunton, Providence, West Warwick, and Central Falls. In addition to being a home room grade-school teacher, she also taught art.
According to an obituary, Sister “never failed to thank anyone who served her, especially the staff of Catholic Memorial Home in Fall River.”
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at St. Stanislaus Church, 36 Rockland Street, Fall River, Massachusetts. Visitation will be at 9:00 a.m. with a Mercy Prayer Service at 9:45 a.m. Interment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, Fall River, Massachusetts.
