Single vehicle crash sends two to Fall River hospital
Multiple people were injured after a crash on Thursday afternoon.
According to police, at approximately 3:45 p.m., the Freetown Police Department, Fire Department, and EMS responded to a 911 call reporting a single-vehicle motor vehicle crash with possible injuries in the area of 170 South Main Street, near Copart.
Police, fire, and EMS units arrived within minutes and immediately rendered medical aid. Two victims—an adult male and an adult female—were transported by Freetown Fire & EMS to Charlton Memorial Hospital for evaluation and treatment. Due to the severity of the operator’s condition, the Massachusetts State Police were notified.
South Main Street was temporarily closed in both directions between Copart and Stop & Shop to allow emergency personnel to treat the victims, stabilize the scene, and remove the vehicle. The roadway was reopened later in the evening.
The involved vehicle, a 2022 Ford Escape, was removed from the scene by Howard’s Auto Body at the request of the Freetown Police Department.
The crash remains under investigation by the Freetown Police Department.
