
An incident that took place in both Bristol and Plymouth counties reportedly resulted in shots being fired.
According to Chief of Police Keith Boone, at approximately 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, the Easton Police Department received a report of two vehicles traveling southbound at high rates of speed on Pearl Street in Brockton, and into West Bridgewater, before entering Easton by way of Turnpike Street. One vehicle was described as a dark colored SUV which appeared to be fleeing from a dark colored sedan.
In the area of Turnpike Street and Jennifer Way, a witness reported seeing a passenger from the sedan leaning from the window firing a handgun at the SUV. According to witnesses, both vehicles continued on at high rates of speed, in different directions of travel.
Easton Officers and Detectives responded and recovered several spent shell casings in the roadway. At this time, investigators have not identified any suspects and no potential victims have come forward.
Boone stated that this does not appear to be a random incident and the investigation remains ongoing by Easton Detectives along with several other law enforcement agencies.
