Sheriff’s Office: Bristol County man dies after being pulled from waters while swimming
A 72-year-old Bristol County man died last week after he was swimming, according to authorities.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office – Florida Keys stated that Mark J. Gosciminski of South Easton, Massachusetts died after he was pulled from the water on Alligator Reef off Islamorada.
Gosciminski was pronounced dead at Mariners Hospital in Tavernier.
A preliminary investigation revealed that Gosciminski was attempting to swim to a vessel at approximately 9:45 a.m. on April 19th when he reportedly began to struggle.
The U.S. Coast Guard responded as well as a U.S. Navy helicopter, which flew Gosciminski to the hospital.
There were no signs of foul play.
Autopsy results are pending.
