Several safety inspections to cause lane and shoulder closures on Route 195 this week
FALL RIVER – The Massachusetts Department of Transportation has announced it will be conducting safety inspection operations on the ceiling panels underneath Fall River City Hall over I-195 eastbound and westbound and on the adjacent bridges located over I-195 on South Main Street, Third Street, and Fourth Street.
According to MassDOT, the inspection work is scheduled to take place nightly, on Monday, July 18, Tuesday, July 19, Wednesday, July 20, and Thursday, July 21, during overnight hours from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. the following morning. All work is anticipated to be completed by 5:00 a.m. on Friday, July 22.
Standard MassDOT construction work zone logistics and police details will be used for traffic control. Intermittent lane and shoulder closures will be required to perform the work. A minimum of two open travel lanes in each direction will be maintained at all times, according to MassDOT. All ramps and exits will be open at all times.
Drivers who are traveling through the affected areas should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution.
All scheduled work is weather dependent and/or may be impacted due to an emergency situation.
