Several injured, driver cited, after multi-vehicle crash in Fall River needed “jaws of life”
Several people were injured, and a driver was cited, after a multi-vehicle crash in Fall River.
According to Detective Sergeant Moses Pereira, at approximately 8:30 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of Rhode Island Avenue and Orswell Street in response to a motor vehicle collision.
Through his investigation, Officer Joseph Bailey was able to determine that the operator of a Chevrolet failed to yield to oncoming traffic as she crossed Rhode Island Avenue from Orswell Street.
According to scanner transmissions and witnesses, at least two victims had to be extricated from one of the vehicles using the “jaws of life”. A child was also in one of the vehicles.
Occupants of both vehicles were taken to area hospitals for medical treatment.
The operator of the Chevrolet was cited for failure to yield.
