Services announced for Swansea man, active-duty Framingham firefighter, who served for Fall River Fire Department
Services have been announced for a local man who served multiple fire departments, including Fall River.
According to an obituary, 52-year-old Keith Cashman of Swansea and previously Fall River, passed away on Saturday at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River.
“A third generation Firefighter, Keith was first appointed to the Fall River Fire Department in 2010. While working in Fall River, he was assigned to both Engine 6, and then the Heavy Rescue 1 at the Center Station. He served the city for 5 years before transferring to the Framingham Fire Department in 2015. Keith also worked for many years as a CDL tractor trailer driver for Dixie Warehousing in Lakeville.
“Keith was an excellent cook, loved playing the guitar, hosting gatherings for family and friends, riding his bike on numerous bike paths, and taking his beloved dog, Lunabelle on walks at Colt State Park. Always creative, he was excellent at drawing and even tinkered with woodworking. In a true labor of love, Keith renovated an old farmhouse he purchased with his wife eight years ago. He had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh.
“His Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025, at 10:30 AM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited. His visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Contributions in his honor may be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692. Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Swansea.”
