Services have been announced for a Brockton teen killed last week in a shooting.

According to Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz, Tyree St. Cloud, 18, pleaded not guilty in Brockton District Court to one count each of Murder, Carrying a Loaded Firearm Without a License, Discharging a Firearm within 500 ft of a building, and Possession of Ammunition without an FID card. He was held without bail at the request of the Commonwealth.

Just before 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Brockton Police were alerted by Shotspotter to 14 rounds being fired in the area of Commercial Street. Officers responded to the Brockton Area Transit Terminal, and located a male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to Brockton Hospital where he was pronounced deceased at 8:46 p.m. He has been identified as 17-year-old Jeffry Damestoire.

In the vicinity of the shooting, officers were alerted by witnesses that the suspect was wearing all black and had fled toward Stillman Avenue. Police located the suspect and he was apprehended in the rear of 41 Otis Street. He was given his Miranda rights and identified as St. Cloud. St. Cloud told police that he dropped the firearm, a black Glock 30, behind an apartment on Stillman Avenue and it was located by investigators. Through interviews and a review of video surveillance, it appears that a physical altercation occurred between Damestoire and St. Cloud prior to St. Cloud drawing his firearm.

According to an obituary, “Jeffry brought joy, light, and warmth into the lives of all who knew him. His vibrant spirit, kind heart, and determined nature left a lasting impression on his family, friends, and community.

“Jeffry was a dedicated student in the 11th grade at Brockton High School. He approached life with ambition and a strong work ethic beyond his years. Alongside his studies, he took pride in working in the family construction business with his brother, demonstrating responsibility, skill, and commitment. He also gained experience in retail and security work, always striving to contribute and grow.

“Above all, Jeffry cherished his family. He was a loving son, a supportive brother, and a source of pride and joy to his parents. His presence brought laughter, comfort, and unity to family gatherings, and his absence leaves an immeasurable void. Jeffry’s life, though brief, was filled with love, purpose, and meaningful connections.”

Family and friends are invited to honor and celebrate Jeffry’s life at George Lopes Funeral Home, 647 Main Street, Brockton, Massachusetts. Viewing hours will take place on Saturday, April 11, 2026, beginning at 9:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery, 163 N Cary Street, Brockton, Massachusetts.

St. Cloud is next scheduled to appear in court on April 13th .
