Services announced for man and woman killed in Massachusetts murder-suicide
The Office of the Essex County District Attorney Paul Tucker and Beverly Police Chief John LeLacheur announced that two deaths at a Beverly home last week are being viewed by investigators as an apparent murder-suicide.
58-year-old Becky Lynn (Aubin) Center and 63-year-old John Patrick Nesbitt with apparent gunshot wounds were pronounced deceased on scene inside a home on Colonial Drive in Beverly late Monday night.
The Beverly Police Department responded to the residence at approximately 9:40 p.m.
Beverly PD, the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to Tucker’s office, and the Massachusetts Office of the Chief Medical Examiner are investigating the deaths.
Authorities say that there is no greater threat to the public in relation to this incident.
According to an obituary, “an honorably discharged veteran, Becky proudly served her country as a member of the United States Coast Guard. She took immense pride in her service. Becky worked for over two decades with the Essex County Sheriff’s Department as a Correctional Officer.”
Visiting hours will be held for Center at O’Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 84 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common), SALEM, prior to the funeral service on Saturday, November 15th , 2025 from 11 A.M. to 2 P.M. The funeral service will follow at 2 P.M.
An obituary stated that Nesbitt “proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Following his military service, he began his career with the Department of Defense before transitioning to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).”
Following cremation, a time of visitation will be held for Nesbitt on Wednesday, November 12th, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Dumont-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Ferry Street, Hudson, NH. Burial will be private.
Authorities have not released who of the two allegedly committed the murder.
