Services announced for Fall River mother of 3 killed in pedestrian collision

Service have been announced for a Fall River woman killed in a pedestrian collision.

According to Lieutenant Matthew Mendes, members of the Patrol Bureau responded to a motor vehicle vs. pedestrian incident at the intersection of Plymouth Avenue and Nashua Street just before 8:00 p.m. Tuesday in Fall River.

The Major Case Bureau, Crime Scene Unit, and Accident Reconstruction Team were promptly dispatched to the scene to assist in the investigation.

The pedestrian was transported to a nearby hospital with what appeared to be life-threatening injuries. Despite the efforts of medical staff, the victim tragically succumbed to her injuries. 

According to scanner transmissions, the driver was evaluated and stayed at the scene.

Sergeant Ross Aubin stated Friday that the department is deeply saddened to report that the victim of the fatal car crash has been identified as 39-year-old Leliane Amado of Fall River.  

“Our thoughts and condolences are with the family and loved ones of the deceased during this difficult time.”

Friends say that the grandmother, and the mother of 3 children was a good person, sweet, a good mother and a good friend.

According to an obituary, the Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, from 12:00-2:00PM located at the George Lopes Funeral Home, 647 Main Street, Brockton, MA.

The Funeral Service will take place at 2:00PM located at the George Lopes Funeral Home, 647 Main Street, Brockton, MA 02301.

The Repass following the services will take place at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 547 Manley Street, West Bridgewater, MA 02379

Additional details on the collision were not released.
