Services announced for Fall River mother and son who died from fatal gunshot wounds
According to an obituary, 25-year-old Nicholas Almeida “lived a life defined by shared moments of joy, love, and laughter. Nick was a graduate of Resiliency Preparatory Academy and worked as a Pool Installer.”
“During his short time on earth, he brought joy and laughter to all who were lucky enough to know him. We will miss everything about him but especially his lisp, his laugh, the little gap between his teeth and his ability to make everyone laugh. He was always there to help when you needed it. Nick enjoyed biking and creating memories, but most of all he loved fishing, even going by Nick Fishin’ on social media.”
54-year-old Elizabeth “Liz” Almeida “thrived in the great outdoors, cherishing camping trips, relaxing by the pool, and the simple joy of cooking on the grill. Her love for life was infectious and through her positivity, she inspired those lucky enough to know her. Elizabeth was a dedicated home aid assistant, demonstrating a remarkable inclination for helping others. Her compassionate nature extended to her love for animals, particularly her cherished dogs, Buddy and Quinn.”
Their lives will be celebrated on Thursday, February 12, 2026, with a public visitation, 04:00 PM – 06:30 PM at the Southcoast Funeral Home, inside of the Ferreira Chapel, 1555 Pleasant Street, Fall River, Massachusetts, 02723. The Celebration of Life will follow at 06:30 PM presided over by Chaplain and Life Celebrant Ines Bates.
