A young Bristol County man has died from injuries sustained in a car crash this week.

According to police and MetroWest Daily News, 22-year-old Wilmani Josiah Castillo of Attleboro, a junior at Framingham State University majoring in Business Management, died early Monday in a single-vehicle car crash in Natick.

The incident occurred at just after 1:00 a.m. on Route 9.

Castillo was driving westbound in a Honda when, for reasons still under investigation, the vehicle veered off the road and struck a utility pole. There were no passengers in the car, and no other vehicles were involved. He was transported to MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham, where he was later pronounced deceased.

Castillo was described as a great kid and a first-generation college student.

In an email to the FSU community, university President Nancy Niemi expressed condolences, noting the profound loss to the campus and highlighting his status as a promising young scholar.

According to an obituary, visiting hours are at the Brady & Fallon Funeral Home 10 Tower St. (Opp. Forest Hills MBTA station) Jamaica Plain on Thursday, February 19th, from 5-8 PM. His family will gather again at the funeral home on Friday, February 20th, from 10 am until 11 am and then proceed to New Calvary Cemetery for interment services.
