Services announced for 19-year-old New Bedford teen who had a passion for riding, loyalty to family
Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn, III announced that the 19-year-old male who was shot to death in New Bedford on Tuesday has been identified as Jordan “JoJo” Roman of New Bedford. You can see the story when it broke HERE.
At approximately 10:00 p.m., New Bedford Police and EMS responded to the area of Acushnet Avenue near Griffin Court in New Bedford after a shot spotter alert and 911 call to the area. Upon arrival police located Roman in a black Hyundai Sonata parked on the East side of Acushnet Avenue suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. The vehicle was also found to have multiple projectile strikes.
The victim was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.
According to an obituary, Roman “was known for his vibrant spirit, loyalty to family, and love of engines — whether it was dirt bikes, cars, or anything that roared to life. He had a passion for riding, and he always made time to dress sharply and express his unique style.” His presence also “brought joy, laughter, and comfort to all who knew him.”
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, MA 02745. Burial will be private.
