Second teen killed in Abington crash that also injured 3 others remembered for smile, kindness

ABINGTON – A second teen confirmed dead in a collision that took place in Abington on Wednesday is being remembered.

The Fall River Reporter confirmed Friday with the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office that a second teen had died.

On Thursday the driver in the fatal incident had been identified as 17-year-old Sebastian Hamilton. The second deceased teen has been identified by friends and family as Rosie.

Friends stated that they remember her smile and that she touched the hearts of those around her with kindness and warmth, and her memory will always be cherished.

Adding to the tragedy, according to Sebastian Hamilton’s family, there have been multiple recent family deaths including his father earlier this month and his younger sibling’s mother just days ago.

Those who knew Hamilton described him as a good kid who has been through a lot.

A touching memorial at the crash scene honoring the deceased continues to grow.

According to Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz and Abington Police Chief John Bonney, just before 8:00 a.m. Wednesday, Abington Police observed a Hyundai Santa Fe that had previously been reported stolen, and were attempting to make a motor vehicle stop when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree at 877 Washington Street. Five people were inside the Hyundai Santa Fe at the time of the crash.

One person, a female, was ejected from the motor vehicle. Three other passengers in the car – a male and two females – sustained life-threatening injuries and were taken to area hospitals, before being transported to Boston hospitals for treatment. Hamilton was pinned inside the motor vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The other 3 individuals who survived the fatal incident remain at area medical facilities for continued treatment.

A woman identifying herself as the mother of the surviving male passenger posted on social media that he underwent spinal surgery and suffered a traumatic head injury with fluid and blood around the brain.

Abington Police and the Massachusetts State Police’s investigation into this incident remains active and ongoing.
