Search for missing boater off Hyannis ends in tragedy
A man has died after a boating accident Saturday.
The Coast Guard announced yesterday evening that crews and local agencies were searching for a 55-year old male missing in the water after a 17-foot boat overturned in the vicinity of Hyannis.
A second victim who had been clinging to the boat had been rescued by another boater earlier.
Just before 8 a.m. this morning, a helicopter from USCG Air Station Cape Cod recovered the missing man unresponsive. He was transported to Woods Hole and transferred to local EMS where he was pronounced deceased, according to USCG.
The victim’s name has yet to be released.
