Saint Anne’s Hospital announces passing of Fall River and Dartmouth doctor

A local doctor died unexpectedly on Thursday.

Saint Anne’s Hospital has announced the passing of orthopedic surgeon Dr. Edward Klein.

A longtime member of Saint Anne’s orthopedic surgery team in Fall River and Hawthorn Medical in Dartmouth, the hospital stated that Dr. Klein touched the lives of countless patients, hospital staff, and colleagues.

“His expertise and collegial support will be greatly missed by all.”

According to U.S. News and World Report, Klein received his medical degree from NYIT College Of Osteopathic Medicine and had been in practice for more than 20 years.

Klein had expertise in treating knee replacement, hip replacement, arthritis, among other conditions.

Patients of Klein described him as a nice and funny man in addition to a good surgeon.

Services have yet to be announced.
