A new Latin restaurant has taken over a familiar Flint location in Fall River.
Sabor Latino is now open at 1856 Pleasant Street, in the space formerly occupied by Pingo Doce Steakhouse. The Brazilian steakhouse that closed in July.
The opening is part of a broader wave of Latin American restaurants in Fall River.
In recent years the city has added Dominican, Puerto Rican, Mexican, Ecuadorian, and other Latin kitchens.
The menu is built around fried and roasted chicken, lunch plates with rice and beans, sandwiches, and fried sides. Combos come with fries and a soda or Jugo Rica. Larger chicken orders can add fries, crispy tostones, or rice and beans.
Lunch plates include steak, stewed pork, or stewed chicken, each served with white rice, beans, and a soda. Sides include white rice, stewed beans, moro (rice cooked with beans), sweet plantains, and fried items such as empanadas, kipes, tostones, and fried yuca.
