Route 6 collision in Seekonk results in head injury, shutdown of roadway in both directions
At least one person was injured due to a collision on Wednesday afternoon.
A call came into dispatch just before 4:30 p.m. for a vehicle into a pole with rollover and possible ejection near Solar Cannabis on Fall River Avenue (Route 6) in Seekonk.
According to Seekonk Police, wires were down, a pole was snapped, and the roadway was impassable. Detours were set up and Route 6 was closed between the Rehoboth line and Cumberland Farms. The roadway was reopened at approximately 5:45 p.m.
EMS stated over scanner transmissions that one individual was suffering from head trauma and a possible diabetic emergency.
Crews stated that 3 or 4 poles were impacted in the incident.
The victim was transported to a local hospital.
The crash is under investigation.
