Route 24 North & Route 44 East to Route 24 North ramp closures, “Rolling Roadblocks”, announced
Lane and ramp closures have been announced for Route 24 according to MassDOT.
MassDOT will close the right lane on Route 24 North and the Route 44 East to Route 24 North on-ramp and implement “rolling roadblocks” overnight on Thursday, March 7. The right lane will be closed between Route 140 and Route 44 from 8:00 PM on Thursday, March 7 to 5:00 AM on Friday, March 8. The on-ramp will be closed from 9:00 PM on Thursday, March 7 to 5:00 AM on Friday, March 8 and a detour will be in place. The “rolling roadblocks” will take place on Route 24 North between Route 140 and Route 44 from 12:00 AM to 4:00 AM on Friday, March 8. For the “rolling roadblocks,” State Police will travel at reduced speeds to slow the traffic flow, so the contractor can remove an overhead sign structure. “Rolling roadblocks” will be limited to 20 minutes maximum duration.
Route 44 East to Route 24 North detour route:
Continue on Route 44 eastbound, turn right on Paramount Drive and follow it to the end. Turn left on Route 44 westbound. Use on-ramp for Route 24 North.
MassDOT encourages drivers to avoid the area and seek alternate routes to minimize delays. Those traveling through the area should expect delays and should reduce speed and use caution.
The schedule for this major infrastructure project is weather dependent and subject to change without notice.
