Route 24 in southern New England has third major car fire in last two Saturdays
Today, Route 24 saw its third major car fire in the last two Saturdays. All taking place in southern New England.
This afternoon Car 3, Ladder 2 and Engine 3 from the Tiverton Fire Department responded to a reported vehicle fire on Route 24.
According to TFD, Car 3 arrived and confirmed the car to be located in the weigh station parking lot, with the majority of the vehicle involved.
Ladder 2’s crew of two firefighters extinguished the fire within a few minutes of arrival.
All occupants of the vehicle had exited the vehicle without injury and declined medical evaluation.
Last Saturday, two early morning car fires in southeastern Massachusetts shut down Route 24 South.
