Route 24 crash in Freetown leads to multiple injuries Thursday
A local roadway that has garnered a reputation for crashes, saw another accident on Thursday.
According to Freetown Fire and Rescue, Car 1, Engine 1, Rescue 2, and Rescue 3 responded to Route 24 northbound prior to Exit 10 for a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, crews found a passenger sedan that had crashed into a barrier vehicle for the roadwork that was taking place on the highway at that time.
The operators of both vehicles were treated and transported with non life threatening injuries.
According to authorities, the crash could have been much worse.
“These barrier vehicles are used by MassDOT for this very purpose. Without it, this incident may have had a much worse outcome.”
