Rollover crash on Route 140 causes serious injures Wednesday
A driver was seriously injured after a major crash Wednesday.
According to the Lakeville Fire Department, at approximately 5:50 a.m. this morning, Lakeville Fire Alarm received multiple 911 calls reporting a serious crash on Route 140.
The callers provided conflicting information about the exact location of the crash causing issues for responders. The crash occurred in the northbound lanes just south of exit 9 (County Street). Freetown Fire Department received additional 911 calls and sent their ambulance to the scene as well.
Prior to arrival and due to the reported severity of the crash, the availability of MedFlight was checked. The helicopter was not available due to weather conditions.
Firefighters arrived to find one adult male patient with multiple significant injuries.
Paramedics from Freetown and Lakeville initiated ALS care at the scene, with the Lakeville Ambulance transporting the man to Rhode Island Hospital’s level 1 trauma center.
