A crash on a Fall River highway turned into multiple charges for the vehicle’s driver.

According to Massachusetts State Police, Troopers of the Dartmouth Barracks responded to the on-ramp from Route 81 West to Route 24 North in Fall River for reports of a vehicle roll-over crash.

Troopers had a conversation with the Rhode Island Operator who was uninjured.

During an inspection of the vehicle after the crash, Troopers observed a box of ammunition inside the passenger compartment of the vehicle. The operator stated there was no firearm in the vehicle and the operator did not possess an active LTC in MA or RI. Troopers conducted a search of the vehicle and located a Ruger .380 handgun in a zipped pouch concealed in a shoe box on the front seat of the vehicle. During booking, Troopers located a blue glass rock like substance consistent with and believed to be Crystal Methamphetamine inside the suspect’s wallet.

The operator, whose name was not released, was charged with narcotics and firearms offenses.
