Road rage incident in Westport leads to one of two highway crashes Wednesday
Two crashes occurred on highways in Westport this morning.
According to Detective Sergeant Christopher Dunn, a rollover accident that occurred on Route 88 appears to be the result of road rage. The crash occurred because of a road rage incident involving two vehicles. A male operating a F-250 was attempting to retrieve a license plate from a second vehicle when he ran off the roadway, and the pick up overturned.
The operator was transported to St. Anne’s Hospital as a precautionary measure.
No information was available regarding the other vehicle.
Before 9:00 a.m., a rollover crash occurred on I-195 West that closed the left lane, according to Massachusetts State Police.
A minor injury was reported.
According to the Westport Fire Department, both crashes occurred within 20 minutes of each other.
