Rhode Island woman killed by snowplow truck being remembered, daughter wants her back home
A Rhode Island woman who was hit and killed by a snowplow is being remembered.
71-year-old Maria Vega Rivera of North Providence was struck early Tuesday afternoon in the parking lot of a senior living complex called Maple Gardens Apartments.
According to multiple reports, police say Vega-Rivera was struck by a plow operated by 30-year-old Lloyd Card who was driving an unregistered truck with a suspended license.
Vega Rivera’s daughter Diana Lopez stated in a GoFundMe fundraiser that Maria has 4 children, a grandmother of 9, and a great grandmother of 17.
“She was always a person of peace and unity. She loved her plants and shopping.”
Lopez is looking to get her mother’s body back to where she was born and raised.
“I need to get her to her burial ground in Puerto Rico and I am asking for help. Please help me and my sisters and brother to get my mother to her homeland and lay her to rest.”

Rest in peace. Whoever hired Lloyd Card needs to be sued for not making sure he was legal if they did their job he wouldn’t have ever been driving.
