Rhode Island woman facing several charges, 5 children hospitalized after 3-vehicle crash
A Rhode Island woman is facing a list of charges after a collision sent several children to the hospital.
According to police, on Wednesday just after 5:00 p.m., the Smithfield Police Department responded to Pleasant View Ave. at Laurel Hill Ave. for a three-vehicle collision.
One operator, 38-year-old Allison Walsh of Smithfield, RI had five juvenile passengers in her vehicle who were transported to Hasbro Children’s Hospital for treatment and/ or evaluation.
No other vehicle operators or passengers sustained injury.
Walsh has been charged with Driving Under the Influence of Liquor or Drugs-1st Offense .15 or Greater BAC, Driving Under the Influence of Liquor or Drugs- Child Passenger Under 13, Operating an Unregistered Vehicle, Driving with a Suspended License, Laned Roadway Violation, Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance, and Operating Left of Center.
The crash is still under investigation and may result in additional charges.
