Rhode Island teen’s death ruled suspicious, remembered as a sweet girl with a big heart
The death of a Rhode Island teen is being ruled as suspicious.
According to police, early Saturday morning, Cumberland Police Department members responded to 46 E. Barrows Street for the report of an unresponsive female. Once on scene, Officers determined the 18-year-old female resident, Angelina Rocha, was deceased.
Cumberland Police Detectives, with the assistance of Rhode Island State Police crime scene investigators, processed the scene and the case is considered actively under investigation.
No arrests have been made in conjunction with this incident and police say that there are no further details to be released at this time.
According to a GoFundMe fundraiser and those who knew her, Rocha was a sweet girl with a big heart.
Chief Benson offered, “On behalf of the men and women of the Cumberland Police Department, I offer my sincere condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of Ms. Rocha. This was a tragic circumstance which remains a highly active investigation at this time. I’d like to thank Colonel Weaver and the members of the Rhode Island State Police crime scene unit for their assistance over the weekend.”
