Rhode Island State Police conducting investigation following discovery of human remains near highway

Police are investigating a disturbing discovery.

On Wednesday, at approximately 5:00 p.m., the Rhode Island State Police responded to a wooded area in Foster near Route 14 (Plainfield Pike) to investigate a report of human remains. The Foster Police were initially notified by a local resident.

The remains belong to an unidentified female of unknown age.

The circumstances surrounding the death are considered suspicious, and the investigation is still in its preliminary stages.
