Rhode Island State Police arrest 51-year-old man after reported hit-and-run crash on Newport Bridge

A local man has been charged after a reported highway crash in Rhode Island.

According to Rhode Island State Police, at just before 2:15 p.m. on Saturday, Troopers arrested 51-year-old Kevin Donohue of Newport, Rhode Island for Failure to Stop for Accident Resulting in Damage to Attended Vehicle.

The arrest was the result of a hit and run crash investigation on the Newport Bridge and Troopers locating the vehicle and suspect with the assistance of the Newport Police Department.

Donohue was transported to the Wickford Barracks, processed, specially arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and released with a future Second Division District Court date.
