Rhode Island State Police announces passing of K9 Chuck
Rhode Island State Police has announced the passing of a long time K9 officer.
According to the Rhode Island Troopers Association, K9 Chuck, certified in patrol and narcotics detection, began his career in 2012 with Captain Erik Jones (ret). In 2016, Chuck was re-assigned to and handled by A/Corporal James D’Angelo. K9 Chuck spent 8 years serving the citizens of Rhode Island.
Among K9 Chuck’s highlights with the force included he and Trooper D’Angelo helping the Coventry Police Department locate and arrest a suspect who had fled on foot from the scene of a motor vehicle crash in 2019. He was also featured when RI State Police arrested a NYC man on narcotics charges after troopers seized 60 pounds of marijuana.
