A Rhode Island nursing home resident is being accused of killing his roommate after he says the victim tried to kill him first.
According to multiple reports, 76-year-old Robert Hill of Warren has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of 81-year-old John Sullivan who was found by staff with pillow stuffing inside his mouth at the time of his death.
Personnel responded to Crestwood Nursing & Rehabilitation at 568 Child Street in Warren at approximately 10:15 p.m. on Thursday for a sudden death at the residence.
Hill reportedly stated that Sullivan had been trying to kill him for 5, 10 years prior to him being found deceased.
The suspect was arraigned on Friday and has been held without bail.
