Rhode Island man sentenced to prison after crash that killed one, injured 5 others
A Rhode Island man was sentenced to prison recently for his role in a fatal crash that also injured several others.
On May 25, 2019, at approximately 9:30 p.m. members of the West Warwick Police Department Patrol Division responded to the area of 717 Providence Street, for a report of a head-on motor vehicle crash, with injury.
As a result of the crash, 6 people were transported to area hospitals. One of whom succumbed to her injuries.
The crash resulted in the death of 80-year-old Ferial Alrefai of West Warwick, R.I.
On July 25, 2019, members of the West Warwick Police department arrested Keith R. Jensen of Warwick, R.I. on charges stemming from the crash.
After a lengthy investigation by the Detective Division and Accident Reconstruction Team, Jensen was charged with Driving to Endanger-Death Resulting.
After a bench trial, Jensen was found guilty of Driving to Endanger Death Resulting, and on October 11, 2022 he was sentenced to 10 years full sentence, with 7 years to serve at the Adult Correctional Institution.
