Rhode Island man released on bail after allegedly filming himself molesting a child

The Rhode Island State Police today announced that on Tuesday, September 17th, members of the Rhode Island Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force arrested 51-year-old Larry W. Albino, of North Providence, Rhode Island for Child Molestation – 2nd Degree, Production of Child Pornography, Possession of Child Pornography, Transfer of Child Pornography, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

ICAC Task Force members recently initiated an investigation regarding an individual sharing files of child pornography over the internet. The internet connection at 86 Waterman Avenue, Apartment #18, North Providence, Rhode Island was identified as allegedly facilitating the transfer of these files. On September 17, 2024, members of the ICAC Task Force executed a court-authorized search warrant at Albino’s residence. Albino was identified as the person who had filmed himself molesting a child before uploading the explicit videos and images to the internet.

Albino was arraigned at Third Division District Court by Judge J. Patrick O’Neill and held at the Adult Correctional Institution on $75,000 surety bail. Albino’s bail was later posted, and he was released. Albino was assigned a future court date and ordered not to have contact with minors, as well as restricted internet access.

The Rhode Island Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force actively engages in investigative efforts to identify subjects involved in child exploitation-related activities. The Rhode Island ICAC Task Force Program is administered by the Rhode Island State Police and supports a national network of multi-agency, multi-jurisdictional task forces engaged in investigations, forensic examinations, and prosecutions related to Internet crimes against children and technology-facilitated child sexual exploitation.

The Rhode Island ICAC Task Force is comprised of members of the Rhode Island State Police Computer Crimes Unit along with detectives from the Warwick Police Department, Cranston Police Department, East Providence Police Department, Pawtucket Police Department, Portsmouth Police Department, Middletown Police Department, and Special Agents from Homeland Security Investigations.
