Rhode Island man pleads not guilty, granted bail in Fall River court, on drug and gun charges after search warrant at Bristol County hotel

A man pled not guilty Friday morning and was issued bail in Fall River Superior Court concerning the arrest of two people at a Bristol County hotel.

According to police, in the evening hours on June 4th, members of the Seekonk Police Patrol Division, Seekonk Police Narcotics Unit, Northern Bristol County Drug Task Force and the DEA executed a search warrant for a room at a hotel in Seekonk. The target of the investigation, 35-year-old Jonathan Boutelle of Pawtucket, RI was located inside of the room along with several other parties when the search warrant was executed.

Boutelle was allegedly in possession of a large quantity of illegal narcotics, drug paraphernalia and cash. A further search of the room revealed numerous cell phones, scales, baggies and drug paraphernalia, all indictive of narcotic distribution. Also located in the room was a loaded Smith and Wesson .38 Special revolver.

Boutelle’s girlfriend was the registrant of the hotel room. She is identified as 37-year-old Veronica Abreu of Central Falls, RI. Both were placed under arrest as a result of this investigation. The other parties in the room were released.

​Boutelle was arraigned on the charges of Carrying a loaded Firearm without License, Carrying a Firearm without a License, Trafficking a Class B Substance (Cocaine), Trafficking a Class A Substance (Fentanyl, Heroin), and Possession of a Class B Drug.

​​Bail was set at $7,500 cash.

Boutelle’s next court appearing is a hearing scheduled for late January.
