Just after 1:00 a.m. Sunday morning, North Smithfield Police responded to a report of an unconscious and entrapped man after a single car crash at 535 Douglas Pike (Route 7).

32-year-old Jamey Scheer of Cranston was found not breathing and was transported to Landmark Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.

Scheer’s girlfriend posted a touching and heartbreaking tribute to Scheer on social media.

“My angel my everything. All the memories we made I’ll cherish forever. I can’t wrap my head around this or why. My handsome. My all. If I could just hug and kiss you again. Please watch over me and give me strength. We had so many plans for the future. How am I going to sleep without you? Live without you? I love you Jamey more then you’ll ever know for the rest of my life.”

Scheer also leaves behind many family members and friends, but most importantly his daughter.
