Rhode Island man killed in Bristol County highway crash being remembered as services announced

A man who died from injuries sustained in a Bristol County highway crash is being remembered and his services have been announced.

According to Sergeant Gregory Jones of Massachusetts State Police Media Relations, at approximately 12:40 p.m. on Thursday, Troopers from the Foxboro Barracks responded to a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 North in the city of Mansfield, near the 12.2 mile marker.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a sedan drove into the rear end of a box truck.

An occupant of the sedan was killed in the crash.

Tim McGuirk of Massachusetts State Police Media Relations stated that the decedent is identified as Adeyinka Awodumila, 73, of North Providence, Rhode Island.

According to an obituary, Adeyinka was born in Nigeria and loved soccer, football and the New England Patriots.

Visiting hours will be at the A.A. Mariani & Son Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins Street, Saturday February 22nd, from 10:00 am – 11:00 am followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.

The crash is under investigation.
