Rhode Island man arrested at polling location after allegedly yelling at political supporters, voters, election staff
As many know, this has been a tense election cycle, and it reportedly has carried over to election day.
According to police, on Tuesday, at 10:15 am, the Coventry Police Department responded to Maple Root Baptist Church, a registered polling location for the Town of Coventry, for the report of a male causing a disturbance involving voters and political supporters.
Responding officers were able to speak with local elections officials and other witnesses, as well as the involved male subject, as to the events that occurred. An on-scene investigation revealed the male was allegedly confrontational with voters, political supporters, and election staff, yelling obscenities and vulgar remarks interfering with polling operations. Additionally, the male continued in this behavior, even after the officer’s arrival.
Officers subsequently placed 33-year-old Timothy Masse, of Coventry under arrest for Disorderly Conduct.
Masse was transported to Coventry Police HQ, where he was processed and awaits his
arraignment before a bail commissioner.
