Rhode Island man announces his plans after hitting $1 million Massachusetts State Lottery prize
A local man plans on picking out a sweet new ride after hitting big money on a State Lottery scratch ticket.
According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Michael Johnson of Warwick, Rhode Island is the winner of a $1 million prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “Diamonds and Dollars” $5 instant ticket game.
Johnson chose the annuity option on his prize and received the first of 20 annual payments of $50,000 (before taxes). He said he plans on purchasing a new car with the winnings.
He purchased his winning ticket at Mobil, 37 Country Rd. in Mattapoisett. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.

Are winning tickets EVER sold in RI? Every time I read about a winning ticket in any of the games, it’s always from an out-of-state business.
