Two from Rhode Island have been arrested after a reported Massachusetts crime spree.

According to a release from police, on Sunday, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Duxbury Police officers were dispatched to Arrowhead Road following reports of suspicious activity and a disturbance.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with a male victim who reported that while walking down the street, a tan-colored sedan with Rhode Island license plates stopped abruptly in the roadway. A male suspect exited the vehicle and approached the victim while brandishing a box cutter. The suspect pressed the blade against the victim and demanded, “Give me everything.” The suspect then forcibly took the victim’s Apple Watch and red jacket before fleeing in the vehicle, which was being driven by a female suspect.

The vehicle and suspects matched the description given by Plymouth and Kingston Police Departments in connection with similar crimes that had taken place in their towns earlier in the day. It was also later determined that the involved vehicle had been reported stolen out of Rhode Island.

A BOLO (Be on the Lookout) was immediately issued to surrounding towns, and Duxbury officers began searching the area. Utilizing the victim’s “Find My” app, officers were able to track the direction of travel, which led them to a gas station in Pembroke. Pembroke Police located the suspect vehicle and detained the occupants with the assistance of MA State Police. Duxbury officers responded to the scene and placed Fernando Torres, 37, of Providence, RI, and Victoria Lambert, 29, of Warwick, RI, under arrest. Numerous stolen items were recovered from the vehicle.

Fernando Torres is being charged with Armed Robbery, Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Threat to Commit a Crime, Assault and Battery, and Armed Assault to Rob a Person Over 60.

Victoria Lambert is being charged with Accessory After the Fact.
