Responders rescue woman threatening to jump off of Fall River/Somerset bridge
Responders possibly saved a woman’s life Thursday evening after a female threatened to jump off of a local bridge.
Just before 7:00 p.m., Fall River dispatch received a call concerning a woman on foot threatening to jump off of the Veterans Memorial Bridge. The woman went on to say that if she let go, she was hitting water.
Upon arrival, personnel discovered a woman holding on to the bridge on the water side.
Boats were dispatched to the area in case the woman jumped.
Responders were able to talk the woman down just before 7:30 p.m. Keeping her from jumping.
She was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
