An incident at a Fall River school has led to enhanced security measures.

Talbot Middle School announced Thursday night that they were aware of statements made on social media related to a minor altercation involving a small group of students at the end of the school day.

The alleged threats were reported at approximately 9:00 p.m.

Out of an abundance of caution, the school stated that they were taking the following steps:

Student accountability: The students involved in the incident will not be on campus tomorrow as we continue our investigation.

Law enforcement partnership: The Fall River Police Department and the Office of the Superintendent have been notified and are fully engaged.

Enhanced security: We will have increased police and security presence on campus tomorrow to ensure the safety and well-being of all students and staff.

The school reiterated that they take all reports seriously and remain committed to maintaining a safe learning environment.
