Recent price drop may lure the right person to continue a Fall River institution
One of Fall River’s most popular restaurants has been listed for nearly 2 years, but a recent price drop may entice the right buyer to carry on the tradition.
When Guy Fieri uttered “I’m in pierogi paradise” on his popular Food Network show “Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives” in 2012 after biting into a cabbage and pork pierogi at Patti’s Pierogis at 1019 South Main Street, he was stating something many city residents already knew with more delicious options than you can count.
So delicious that in 2019, Bill Murray, who is known for his stint on Saturday Night Live and his long list of hit movies including Ghostbusters, Groundhog Day, and Caddyshack, stopped by Patti’s with Peter Farrelly who has partnered with his brother Bobby to produce, write, and direct comedies such as Dumb and Dumber, There’s Something About Mary, and Green Book.
After years of serving the public tasty polish cuisine, owner Patti Geary announced that despite loving every minute of her experience, that she was looking for the right person to buy the restaurant and carry on the business she has successfully built.
The asking price for this well-known, established restaurant and building which includes the dining room, full-service kitchen, office spaces in the finished basement, the business, equipment and a full liquor license has dipped to $590,000.
I think I can speak for most of us that we hope this move will help carry on Patti Geary’s restaurant legacy so she can experience the retirement that she deserves while the rest of us can still taste the fruit of her labor.

How many pierogis do you have to sell to see $590,000 in profit?

I would love to own this buisness. Would you stay on for awhile to show the new owners how to make the pierogis?

Only way to make this a success would be to turn it into a pierogi factory. Freeze them, box them and find distribution. Stop and Shop warehouse is close by and there are several frozen food distributors up and down Rte 24. Only question is what is the demand for pierogis? I know this business on the non-perishable side with nearly 30 years of experience. I’ve gone from employee to owner. It is very difficult to start a new business due to regulations and costs. Good luck to the owners. I hope you enjoy your retirement. God bless…

Not sure what you are looking to know. He had heard about their pierogies and made the trip to Fall River just to go to Patties. https://fallriverreporter.com/fall-river-was-visited-by-movie-royalty-on-saturday/
