A woman found dead in a fatal double shooting in Bristol County is being remembered.

According to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, Raynham police responded to 134 Elm Street West at approximately noon on Friday after receiving a 911 call.

Upon arrival, at the residence, police found no signs of forced entry.  Once police entered the home, they encountered two minor children who were unharmed. Police then forced entry into a locked second floor bedroom where they discovered two adults.  35-year-old Mark Henshaw was located on the bed with an apparent gunshot wound to the head.  37-year-old Marie Hunt was also located on the bed and discovered to have a gunshot wound to her abdomen.  Both adults were identified as living in the home and were pronounced deceased on scene at approximately 12:39 p.m. by EMS.

Fall River Reporter contacted someone who was a friend of Marie Hunt.

“Marie and her family were regular customers at the Dunkin in Raynham on 138 for a long time. The family was very (well) liked! She ended up applying for a job and I hired her, no questions asked because she just had that personality that people loved! Customers and coworkers loved her, always came in smiling, happy never in a bad mood!

“She was very hard working. She would go out and plow for the town with her dad. She worked really hard to pass the Corrections officer exam and did it! Looks like her coworkers, her brothers and sisters with DOC felt the same way about her.”

Hunt was a six-year member of the Massachusetts Department oof Correction who most recently served at the Old Colony Correctional Center.

This is an active and ongoing investigation being conducted by Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office along with Raynham Police.

The DA’s Office stated that there is no threat to public safety.
