Raising Cane’s in Fall River moves up projected opening date, begins hiring

A popular chicken chain has moved up their timeline to open a location in Fall River.

According to property records, Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers struck an agreement on February 5th, 2024, to locate at 323 William S. Canning Blvd. and recently signed a brand new 15-year lease with 5 (5-year) options to extend.

In the summer of 2021, Family Foods Grocery Outlet at 323 William S. Canning Boulevard closed and was later purchased by the Procaccianti Group.

The group demolished the building and planned to construct a Neon Gas Station & Convenience Store. Ralph Izzi Jr., Vice President Corporate Marketing & Public Affairs at Procaccianti Companies, anticipated completion of the new Neon Marketplace in Fall River for late 2023 but the project was later scratched.

That led to the agreement between Neon and Raising Cane.

The fast-food chain is known for hand battered chicken that’s marinated for 24 hours, then cooked to order. Their Cane’s Sauce® is made fresh daily in every Cane’s® Restaurant. The eatery also features lightly salted crinkle-cut fries, creamy coleslaw, Texas toast and a chicken sandwich.

Representatives stressed that in addition to the food, the brand also prides itself on having a beautiful landscape at their locations and being part of the community.

According to a real estate listing, the 3,287 SF Fall River location with a double drive-thru is looking to open in July of this year with 29 parking spaces.

The eatery has also begun hiring.

Raising Cane’s opened their first restaurant in Louisiana on August 28th, 1996, and now boasts over 700 locations one of which opening in March at the site of the former Pier 1 Imports at 175 Highland Avenue in Seekonk.
