Rage, destroy, relax; Fall River residents part of trio opening House of Rage this week in Dartmouth
Ever feel the need to release your anger or just relax and unwind? An entertainment spot in Dartmouth has you covered.
House of Rage is coming to 832 State Road (Route 6) in Dartmouth on Saturday to help you let go of your rage or lessen it.
Katarina Cidade and Van Rodriguez from Fall River and Jason Feist from Pawtucket are longtime friends who were just hanging out one night when one of them jokingly brought up opening a Paint Room. According to Van, a light bulb went off and they started looking into a Rage Room/Paint Room idea with a twist to it. They quickly got to work.
“Since early 2021, we have spent months visiting local businesses, thrift stores, mom and pop shops; to build relationships and local suppliers. Everything we will use as “breakables”, has all been recycled from these shops/people. We have been lucky with the amazing people that live in our area, including Somerset, Swansea, Westport and Dartmouth residents.”
Ownership knows that it is just what we have needed during these pandemic times.
“We are three friends, bringing to our local area, what all three of us have needed for the last few years. A few months ago, we took over the old Uniform Scrub store in Dartmouth. Immediately, we began creating our vision of an environment where anybody feels welcome and never judged, while having a *๐ง๐๐๐๐ฃ๐* great time.”
House of Rage will consist of several rooms and packages to fit your needs.
The rage rooms will have packages based on the amount of time you need to let off some steam. Whether solo or with friends; choose your weapon, cue the music and RAGE!
Have some items you want to destroy, but don’t want to mess up your pad? No problem. Just bring them to HOR and purchase the “Bring Your Own Breakables Smash Pass”.
Have you ever been so frustrated at your office job that you want to start destroying stuff? At your office that will get you fired and arrested, but at House of Rage with the “Crash the Corporation” package, it is all part of the fun.
As gratifying as it can be, HOR isn’t just about breaking stuff. You can also take a trip to the paint room where you can relax by partaking in some painting. Pay extra and you can use a paint blaster gun.
As each session ends (whether raging or painting), patrons will have the choice of lounging in the Zen Room. This space will be the area to head to, in order to hydrate, chill out, pick up an article, or start a book from their mini library.
HOR has decided to not only focus on the entertainment side with the rage rooms and paint room, but they will also be playing a big part with mental health awareness, according to Van.
“As our thoughts started coming together, we knew from the start, that we wanted to add a mental health part to it. All three of us have struggled with mental health over the years. A mixture of the common depression, anxiety and such, but also some of us struggling with things like bipolar. We are big advocates of Mental Health Awareness and want to help drive the stigma away from it, by giving people a safe place to let out frustrations if needed (although fun raging is absolutely allowed)! Tied with this, we are currently working with a Mental Health Alliance Chapter, on trying to host community meetings twice a week for those interested or needing like-minded individuals to cope with on the tougher days.”
While House of Rage will be a place to let loose, the relaxation and mental health component is part of a plan to not have customers who are full of anger coming in and out of the business.
“We are opening this to give the older crowd and the adults in our area, a safe place to just let go. A place to go to whether it’s for fun, or because you are literally on that last leg. There will be many more things we plan on adding in that will be both fun and informational and we cannot wait to welcome our community!”
Although walk-ins will be welcomed, it is highly recommended that you make a reservation on their website officialhouseofrage.com ahead of time.
While it took longer to open than was expected, HOR is ready for you to get your rage on!
