Purchase at 7-Eleven by Massachusetts woman results in life changing $1 million State Lottery win

A recent trip to a convenience store changed everything for a Massachusetts woman as it resulted in a big lottery win.

According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Elsabet Wondemu of Leominster is the first $1 million prize winner in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s new “$4,000,000 Cash Doubler” $10 instant ticket game that went on sale Tuesday, February 17th.

Wondemu chose the cash option on her prize and received a one-time payment of $650,000 (before taxes). She said she plans on putting the winnings towards her car and mortgage.

She purchased her winning ticket at 7-Eleven, 187 East Cottage St. in Dorchester. The store receives a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.

The “$4,000,000 Cash Doubler” instant ticket includes six more instant prizes of $1 million.
