Providence Police make largest heroin bust in state history
Providence Police have made a record breaking bust.
The bust took place on Jewel Street in Providence late last week where Jose Figueroa Rosales gave officers consent to search his second floor apartment. There, officers discovered school bus seats where 4 cushions held 23 kilograms of heroin.
Rosales, 45, has been charged with possession with intent to deliver heroin following an investigation conducted by the PPD Intelligence Bureau. The seizure is the largest in Rhode Island history. Rosales is currently being held on the charges.
Once processed the seizure has a street value of 4-6 Million dollars according to Col. Hugh Clements of PPD.
Officials stated that this seizure took drugs off of the streets and saved lives in the Providence area and beyond.
