The Professional Fire Fighters of Massachusetts Foundation is asking members, locals, and supporters to help the family of Jack McCarthy of Randolph Local 1268 as he recovers from a rare type of stroke.
McCarthy, a lieutenant with the Randolph Fire Department who has served his community for more than 20 years, recently suffered cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST). After spending weeks in the ICU, he is now beginning a long road to recovery.
Described as a devoted husband and father of three, McCarthy has long been there for others through his work as a firefighter. As he focuses on healing, his family is facing medical expenses, lost income from time away from work, and other unexpected financial challenges that come with an extended recovery.
The foundation is urging the firefighting community and supporters to come together for one of their own during this difficult time.
