Popular principal at Fall River school concludes service at the school effective immediately

A popular principal at a Fall River catholic school is off the job.

In a communication received by parents on Thursday afternoon from Father Fred Babiczuk and Daniel Roy, Superintendent of Schools at the Diocese of Fall River, St. Michael School announced that, effective immediately, Ryan Klein has concluded his service as the principal at St. Michael School.

The letter stated that the two “thank him for his service. Out of respect for Ryan and his family’s privacy, and in keeping with our personnel policies, we are not able to share further details.” 

“In keeping with our commitment to the mission and well-being of our students, St. Michael School and the Catholic Schools Office are engaged to ensure continuity in operations and support for faculty, staff, and families. 

“The Parish, along with the Diocese, is in the process of identifying new leadership for St. Michael School and will keep the community informed as the process moves forward. 

“We ask for your prayers and continued commitment to the St. Michael School community during this time of transition.”

A parent told Fall River Reporter that Klein was an amazing principal and that her children loved him so much.

“It’s a bit disheartening.”

When Klein was hired as principal in 2020, the school stated that “after a career in law enforcement, Ryan’s passion and support of Catholic education prompted him to become a substitute teacher in 2017, which quickly transitioned to head of technology and ultimately, to the middle school ELA and Social Studies teacher.”
